Excretory System consist of
✓A pair of kidney ,one pair of ureters
a urinary bladder and a urethra
✓Kidneys are Reddish brown, bean🫘🫘
shaped structures .
✓Kidney is situated between levels of
last Thoracic and third lumbar
vertebrae,close to dorsal inner
wall of abdominal cavity.
✓Each Kidney Measure:
- Length= 10-12 cm
- Width = 5-7 cm
- Thickness=2-3 cm
✓Kidney Weight=170 gram
✓Towards the centre of inner concave
surface of kidney is a notch called
Hilum
✓Hilum Through which ureter , Blood
vessels and nerves enter .
✓Inner to hilum is a broad funnel
shaped space called Renal pelvis.
✓Renal Pelvis with Projection(Calyces)
✓Outer layer of kidney is Tough capsule.
✓Inner layer of kidney have 2 zone
1. Outer Cortex

NEET UG 2024 result Controversies in a nutshell:
1) AIR 68 and 69 scored 719 and 718 marks which is not possible. (NTA says grace marks given for late question paper distribution but it was not declared in the official bulletin before the exam).
2) AIR 62, 66, 67, 68, 69 have similar application numbers which means that they are from same exam centre (Haryana).
3) Immediate release of results on election result day (so that neet related news is not given importance as compared to election results).
4) Large amounts of rank inflation Last year, for 574 marks rank was 46 thousand, now it is 1.10 lakh, which is completely unacceptable by all. (Because rank could have increased max to max 10k-20k for this year, and also this year's paper is said a bit difficult/same level compared to previous year).
Some believe these points directly/indirectly refer to malpractice in result, paper leak and cheating in exam.

Alveoli are the primary sites of exchange of gases.
Gaseous Exchange in Lungs
● At alveoli level, gaseous exchange occur through respiratory membrane (diffusion membrane) which is 0.2 mm thick (total thickness is much less than a mm).
● 𝗜𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀:
(i) Alveolar epithelium (thin squamous epithelium)
(ii) Basement substance in between them (composed of a thin basement membrane supporting the squamous epithelium and the basement membrane surrounding the single layer endothelial cells of capillaries)
(iii) Endothelium of alveolar blood capillaries
● Exchange of gases also occur between blood and tissues.
● O2 and CO2 are exchanged in these sites by simple diffusion mainly based on pressure/concentration gradient
● Pressure contributed by an individual gas in a mixture of gases is called partial pressure and is represented as pO2 for oxygen and pCO2 for carbon dioxide.
𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗚𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗦
