🔴 Today I invite you to a tour of the railways of Yakutia, where an ordinary trip can bring as much emotion as a multi-day trek in the mountains.
Yakutia is the largest region of Russia, the area is comparable to the whole India. But it is very difficult and expensive to build roads in this region - there is permafrost all around.
That is why the railway is built reliably and thoroughly here. And railway stations in some places are separate sights, as, for example, the railway station in the form of yurts, traditional Yakut nomadic dwellings, in Tommot.
Having travelled only a day you can see boundless forests and wide, powerful rivers, and mountains, and even in winter it can be up to - 50!
Such an adventure will definitely be remembered for a long time!

🔴 Today I invite you to a tour of another unusual temple in Yaroslavl - the Church of St John the Baptist in Tolchkov.
The temple was built at the turn of the 17th-18th centuries - first the church, then the Holy Gate and the bell tower. The idea to build a church arose among local tanners after a strong fire in 1658, as a result of which many buildings, including churches, were destroyed in the town.
Since the church was intended to be the most beautiful, ideas were taken from everywhere: it combines several architectural styles, and no one followed the correct canons of construction.
The church is unique also by the fact that it has 15 chapters - at that time there were no such chapters anywhere in Russia!
The temple differs from all other churches by its very lavish decor: it has watered tiles in oriental style, more than one and a half thousand subjects for the interior of the walls.

🔴 Today I invite you on a mini excursion to one of the wonders of Russia.
St George's Church in Yuriev Polsky, Vladimir region.
It is a temple of 1234, which survived almost complete destruction in the 15th century, but did not lose its mysterious essence.
In the 15th century restorers could not arrange the carvings on the walls as it was at the time of Prince Svyatoslav. Some stones had no place at all - they now lie inside the cathedral. The stone story has disintegrated into separate, not very connected fragments, the story has turned into a riddle. In some places, the details of plant ornaments did not coincide.
But, you know, you can't judge how it was. But you can see it as it is. It is still a miracle - a cheerful chaos, a flow of unprecedented things, a living life, in which it is always difficult to grasp the meaning, if there is any at all. You walk around for hours, watching this stone cartoon, and you can't bring yourself to leave.

🔴 Today I will introduce you to an artist. Boris Lukoshkov (1922-1989).

Boris Lukoshkov was born in the village of Nyunega in the Shenkur district. In 1941 he went to the front, where he was twice seriously wounded, and in 1944 he was demobilised. Despite his disability, in 1949 Lukoshkov entered the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad and realised his dream of becoming an artist.

He worked in the genre of graphics, illustration and landscape, gradually moving from realism to more generalised forms. The main theme of his work was the North.
He surprisingly well manages to convey in his paintings snow. With its transitions of colours in the shadows and in puddles of melted water.

🔴 It turns out that there are a lot of not only hotels in Old Russian style in Russia, but also a lot of places where you can not only stay overnight, but also touch the traditions. You can try yourself in the role of a peasant of the 19th century with all his duties, in the clothes of that time. You can learn ancient blacksmithing or pottery. You can see how to cook pies according to ancient recipes in a real Russian oven.
I personally know a man who in his village from a dilapidated stable created an unusual farm with horse rides through the forest, living in wooden, traditional houses and eating products from his large farm. And he now has regular visitors on almost all holidays and weekends.

🔴 Sharing beauty again. We have already written about the fact that there are many traditional folk outfits in Russia, some have been lost for various reasons.
Despite the fact that the flooded village of Krokhino in the Vologda region has been gone for more than half a century, thanks to the project of the Krokhino Foundation, wedding costumes of the Krokhino settlement of the turn of the XIX-XX centuries have come to the surface as if from the water depths.

Having studied authentic items of costume from the Belozersky district of Novgorod province in the museums of the Vologda region, the masters of the Russian Beginnings Studio sewed the costumes of the bride, groom and three bridesmaids using traditional techniques. It turned out to be very beautiful!

🔴Let's look at Moscow today as a multi-confessional city: there is a cathedral mosque, a Catholic cathedral, a choral synagogue, an Anglican church, a Lutheran kirkha, an Old Believer sloboda and Orthodox churches whose beauty takes your breath away.

For example, Simonov Monastery, which saved Moscow from the plague in ancient times and where the heroes of the Battle of Kulikovo are buried. Or, for example, the marvelous Sobornaya Mosque! And walking through the Georgian Sloboda, you can admire one of the most beautiful Catholic cathedrals of Russia in neo-Gothic style. Old Believers can be found in Rogozhskaya Sloboda. Visiting the Choral Synagogue, you can find the Moscow Wailing Wall! And this is only a small fraction of different interesting things to see in Moscow, a multi-confessional city.

🔴 Today is going to be an unusual journey! Because it will be a journey back in time. In the USSR they built a lot of new towns and neighbourhoods all over the country, from the North Seas to the Pamir Mountains. And they loved to decorate houses with huge panels (murals).
And up to now in different parts of the CIS you can find remnants of those architectural features.
Some even now look modern and beautiful.

🔴 Today we're going to introduce you to a mysterious place. They say they were going to film "Jurassic Park" here. But then they changed their minds.)
A half-abandoned park with dinosaurs in the village of Petropavlovskoye in the Tula region.

In 200 km from Moscow there is an unusual place resembling the scenery of the film "Jurassic Park".  In 2012 it was planned to build a world-class park called "Golden City", but not all plans have been realised so far. Due to the pandemic in 2020. It didn't open. It is now operating as a Chinese-style park hotel, and the dinosaur park is one part of the entertainment complex. It's not officially open yet, so it's covered in rust and overgrown with grass, which makes it look more natural.
