By turning the land of the Kherson region into a post-apocalyptic ruin, the russians tried to protect themselves from a potential attack by Ukraine. As a result of the explosion, millions of tons of water swept away houses and fields, an unknown number of people died, thousands were left homeless, and protected areas were flooded. This man-made disaster is one of the biggest in Europe in recent decades.

However, at the place of this tragedy, the heart of Zaporizhia emerges from the depths – in the 50s of the XX century, the communists buried under a layer of water the historical places of our people, such as Mykytynska Sich, from which the campaign of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi began, and the territory of the Great Meadow, which has now turned into a unique single willow forest in the world.

The anniversary of this tragedy reminds us of the enemy we are waging war against. Russians have no honor, no conscience, no red lines. They will continue, as they did hundreds of years ago, to destroy Ukrainians, Ukrainian culture and Ukrainian land in every possible way.
