Sorry, folks. Tonight's Ubisoft Forward showcase has now passed by, and Beyond Good and Evil 2 () was nowhere to be seen, leaving everyone still wondering whether it'll ever actually arrive at all. Yeah. We've got virtual tissues handy if you need em', Beyond Good and Evilers.Maybe it was wishful thinking for any of us to have expected the sequel to 2003's Beyond Good And Evil to actually show up at this event, especially after it officially celebrated becoming the most delayed AAA game, er, ever back in October 2022 ().But, that said, what are people if they don't have hope? Beyond Good and Evil fans at this iteration of Ubisoft Forward, as it turns out. Since we got nothing, nada, zero, zilch, goose egg, of Beyond Good and Evil 2, as has pretty much become the norm at this point. Read more ()

Did you finish watching the Sony State of Play and were left unsatiated? Still holding on to hope that Bloodborne 2 or a Bloodborne remaster might happen? Well through those dreams aside - you don't need 'em! That's because Nightmare Kart (formerly known as Bloodborne Kart) is out right now.
The PSX gothic Kart racer is available for free right now on (),(and on Steam later when it passes review) and it provides a legally distinct race through a somewhat familiar gothic setting with a cast of vaguely recognizable characters. Those who wish to support the developer can donate to them directly, while the rest of the world zooms off at zero cost.
Nightmare Kart was meant to come out some time ago, but the development team was struck by a DMCA notice by Sony Interactive Entertainment (). This resulted in a month's long process of removing all Bloodborne content from the game, replacing it with original gothic content that shares the same feel as the beloved From Software game, but without any of that pesky IP attached.

I was definitely one of those kids that looked at Digimon () and thought "that looks like a Pokemon () ripoff" and just kind of ignored it. It's not like I never saw any of the show, I did own a single VHS tape with a couple of episodes on it that I watched at least more than once, but there was definitely something missing for me. Cut to now, approaching my thirties, and my fellow-Pokemon-only partner and I thought to ourselves "shall we give Digimon a go?" Why we had that thought, I couldn't tell you, but it did feel like something that was missing in our lives and we wanted to fill that gap.
The series is, unsurprisingly, very much a kids show. All of the characters and Digimon's designs are very sellable, dialogue is a bit hammy, the music is incredibly late '90s, early 2000s in vibes, and things like stats and types show up clearly on the screen so kids could easily see what their favourite guys could do. But, we didn't actually start with the series, because we figured that if we're going to do this, we should do it right. Which in turn led us to the Digimon movie.
No, don't worry fervent Digimon fan, I'm not talking about the awful amalgamation of three different movies that barely makes any sense, I'm talking about the original one, Digimon Adventure. To the uninitiated, Digimon Adventure serves as a prologue to the main Digimon series, and released in cinemas the day before the TV show aired in Japan. It's only a short little thing, about 20 minutes in length, and you know what? It's kind of incredible - and also surprisingly scary.

So, Destiny 2's The Final Shape expansion. It's bringing some pretty big changes () with it when it properly arrives on June 4, but before then Bungie's decided to give us a nice idea of just how much install space it'll require. Via Steam, for both the game and the expansion you might be looking at...er...something like five times the size of one Elden Ring () install.Yep. Now, while you're hyperventilating, let me get something out of the way. In the same post () in which it divulged that number, Bungie acknowledged that the expansion was accidentally pushed live on PS5's streaming service the other day. "A small group of players were able to play some of the campaign, access Collections, and other reward info coming in The Final Shape and Echoes," it wrote, "We recommend being very careful on social media over the next few days to avoid spoilers."So, that's that out of the way. On to the big number - 299.70 GB on Steam, with up to 144.20 GB of it being your base install of Destiny 2, along with a pre-load of the expansion that can require up to 155.50 GB. Boom, nearly 300 GB altogther, which is exactly five times the 60 GB an install of the base version of Elden Ring is listed as requiring () on the platform. Read more ()

You know the Silent Hill 2 remake (), the one that we learned at yesterday's PlayStation State of Play is coming out on October 8, 2024 ()? Well, alongside the release date trailer, Konami also shared 13 minutes of gameplay during the following Silent Hill Transmission that offered a slightly more in depth look at, well, gameplay, and our resident Silent Hill head's now had a chance to digest it.Yep, get ready Bloober Team, we've got someone on our team who eats horror stuff for breakfast, and she's been kind enough to share some brief impressions of your little gameplay video with me. Obviously, if you're reading this as a horror nut yourself, feel free to draw your own conclusions from the gameplay. You can find said 13 minutes of gameplay below, by the way. Now, here's what our guides writer - Kelsey - drew from it in brief. First of all, in general the game seems much brighter in comparision to the original, not as dirty, grainy, or dark as Kelsey remembers or might have ideally hoped. She does acknowledge that perhaps the original appearance of Silent Hill 2 was a product of the times we need to move past, but we're not entirely convinced. Read more ()

One of the few expected announcements made during Sony’s May State of Play showcase was Astro Bot, a sequel to the PS5 pack-in demo, Astro’s Playroom. The Team Asobi-developed original was pre-installed on every PS5 console, making for a 100% attach rate.It was essentially designed to show off the power of the then-new console, and made for an impressive demonstration of the DualSense controller’s haptics and adaptive triggers, too. The new game expands on the concept, with six galaxies to explore and over 80 levels. Read more ()

Helldivers 2 () latest Major Order is a simple one in theory - destroy the Terminid Supercolony on Meridia, using that experimetal Dark Fluid that may or may not end up attracting the attention of the Illuminate (). However, in practice, thing are proving a lot tougher than that, thanks to some bug spawning issues that Arrowhead thankfully looks to already be aware of.While a fix for this stuff seems like it'll drop relatively soon, it's sad to see the game's community riled up again so soon, given the recent changes from the studio behind it () that've seemed to recapture a bit of the player trust that'd been wavering thanks to some controversial patches () and the whole PSN linking thing ().So, what's happening to folks who dropping onto Meridia to try and aid in the destruction of that bug nest? Well, they're encountering enough bugs to make their task incredibly difficult - with a number arguing things go past the point of it just being a skill issue () or something done on purpose. Those of you wishing for a new Batman: Arkham game will soon have your wish granted, though it might not be exactly how you envisioned it.
Earlier this year, Rocksteady released its latest addition to its Batman Arkhamverse with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Unfortunately, it did not go down very well with either fans or critics (), and months later the game still isn't in a state that many would describe as good. But, all is not lost, as a new Batman: Arkham game was announced! The catch? It's releasing exclusively on the Meta Quest 3. Revealed earlier today with a short teaser trailer, Batman: Arkham Shadow is the latest title to take part in the Arkhamverse Rocksteady established all those years ago, though it won't be the ones developing it.
Arkham Shadow will instead be developed by Iron Man VR developer Camouflaj (yes, I spelt that right) alongside Oculus Studios, in partnership with Warner Bros. and DC. A blog post () that accompanied the game's announcement explains that "evil stalks the streets. Gotham City is in danger. And you’re the only one who can save it." That tells us literally nothing about what you'll actually be doing in the game, nor does it even confirm you'll actually be playing as Batman, but I am going to go out on a limb here and assume that you will.

Indika is a game that definitely isn’t for everyone, as I very quickly learned while stepping into the titular protagonist’s shoes. The story first starts in a Russian Orthodox monastery, where Indika - a nun who is hearing a devilish voice - is clearly scorned by her peers. As the others tire of her, she is expelled from the monastery and ends up on a philosophical journey of self-discovery and self-loathing, questioning everything that she has known up until now.Who determines what acts are more sinful than others? And are the punishments for our sins fair? If humans are sinful, why aren’t animals? Is a soul needed to experience love? If so, is God capable of truly loving anyone? These are just a small handful of the increasingly analytical questions that Indika raises on her short, puzzling adventure; an adventure that forces you to conjure up your innermost thoughts on morality and religion, while experiencing what is a stoic criticism of the Russian Orthodox Church and institutional religion.Indika, put in the simplest of terms, is a relatively serious game (with some offbeat, comedic moments) that has you traveling from place to place as a troubled nun in an attempt to deliver a letter, but of course, other priorities come to light. There’s platforming, clever environmental puzzles to solve (that aren’t too troubling), and a thought-provoking story which is heavily influenced by directors Ari Aster () (Midsommar, Beau is Afraid) and Yorgos Lanthimos () (The Lobster, Poor Things), as well as writers Nikolai Gogol () and Mikhail Bulgakov (). The world of Lego is nowhere near as secretive as video games, and that means it’s pretty normal for the first word about upcoming Lego sets to just squeak out onto the internet with little fanfare thanks to retailers and the like. Hello. You know Manor Lords (), that fun little early access thing () that lets you build a nice little medieval village and slowly take over the world by producing more little gamebesons than your tunic-wearing foes? Well, some people have been running into a very, er, non-medieval issue in it. And now there's an equally non-medieval solution doing the rounds. You see, one of the very useful little things you can build in your perfect recreation of a little Bavarian hamlet is a trading post, which, as you might expect, allows you to import and export goods to other places. Naturally, this means that the families you've assigned to it are constantly going out on and returning from trips to transport goods back and forth. As some folks who've really decided to go all-in on the commodity trading have been highlighting, if you've got enough traffic coming in and out of your trading post, you can end up with traffic jams - or traffic accidents - as villagers and merchants try to guide their carts in and out of the post. Margot Robbie might be more focused on her work as a producer right now, but it looks like she's finding some time for her next role too.
As reported by Variety (), Robbie is apparently currently looking to star in an upcoming adaptation of Avengelyne, a '90s co-created by Cathy Christian and Rob Liefeld, the latter of which being the co-creator of the iconic Marvel anti-hero Deadpool. Robbie, if she joins the film, would be taking on the lead role of the titular character, a fallen angel that can use her blood as a weapon or miracle through quoting Bible verses. Yes, this does very much sound like a '90s comic, complete with an oversexualised design, though I'm sure a film version will shape up a bit differently.
Warner Bros. is also apparently close to finalising a seven-figure film rights deal, with Don't Worry Darling director and Tron: Legacy actor Olivia Wilde on directorial duties, and Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class, Logan) as producer. Poor Things screenwriter Tony McNamara is also attached to pen the script. In a statement provided to Variety, Liefeld said, "This incredibly humbling journey to bring Avengelyne to life onscreen started through my relationship with super-producer Simon Kinberg who told me he had a perfect fit for the material and asked me to trust him.

While the likes of Fallout 4 () and Fallout 76 () are all well and good, after enjoying Amazon's Fallout TV show (), a lot of us have been left craving a fresh Fallout experience - or even a new remake - to sink our teeth into.To its credit, while Fallout 4's next-gen update has fallen a bit flat (), Bethesda does at least seem to be aware of the desire for it to do a bit more with the series (). Though, until it can find a way to up its output, mods will continue to provide plenty of Fallout stuff to look forward to in between entries - with one interesting project looking set to release its first demo this summer.Fallout: Vault 13 is, as you might have gleaned from the name, a modding project dedicated to remaking the very first Fallout () game using Fallout 4's engine - seemigly in a pretty similar vein to the likes of Fallout 4 New Vegas () (no prizes for guessing what that one's all about either). Following the release of a Shady Sands showcase video () back in 2022, the project's team has been working on a playable demo (), and has just provided a fresh update on it. Read more ()

The Legend of Zelda movie director Wes Ball has said he's aiming for something a little more "grounded" with his adaptation than he first envisioned a decade ago.
Now, admittedly, right off the bat when I saw Wes Ball, the guy behind the soon-to-be-released Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, say that he wants his Zelda move to be more "grounded" and "real" alarm bells went off in my head. You're telling me you want the series where its protagonist, Link, has been a furry, a painting, and a Deku scrub, to be grounded? But this is why it's important to read on a touch, as that's not exactly what he's getting at. Ball recently spoke in a brief interview with Polygon (), where he was asked about his more than a decade old tweet about a hypothetical Zelda film (), in which he said "Since I could never even hope to have the chance to direct it... the next big mo-cap Avatar-like movie should be... THE LEGEND OF ZELDA."
Bear in mind, this was literally a month after the original Avatar released, so it's no surprise it was on his mind. These days, though, Ball is singing a different tune, saying that a completely motion-capture Zelda film "probably isn't his choice." He then went on to say he wanted the film to be more "grounded" and "real" so it more sounds like he doesn't want a bunch of CGI elf-like people wandering around green-screen sets. I'm hoping that means he's leaning more towards practical effects, a bit of a dying artform in a post-MCU world.
